Retailers of equipment for mountaineering and other outdoor pursuits, Sportshaus Fritsch & Co. was founded in Zurich in 1903. It celebrated its first 25 years in 1928 with the publication of this booklet, which contains numerous articles on different sports by exponents of the particular pursuit, including Marcel Kurz. Pages 33-58 then offer a history of Alpinism, with illustrations of equipment and portraits of notable climbers (including Coolidge, Whymper, and guides such as Christian Almer). A final section covers the sport of skiing.
