An exceptional Large Paper Copy of the First Edition in full Quarto Cloth13"X10½" xii, 162pps Tissue guarded Frontispiece lithograph,rubricated title page,4pp.list of subscribers, corrigenda slip, two plates.Loosely inserted are two newspaper cuttings John Turnbull's 1970" Knight with a murder on his concience" and "Beauchief Abbey's Rise and Fall" 1950 which reproduces G. W.Hopkinsons' imaginative re-construction of how the complex originally looked. Unfortunately their long presence has resulted in a discolouring of the adjoining pages, but otherwise an excellent copy.
