Publisher's quarter cloth binding. Ink notes on the front pastedown and front endpapes Photographic dust jacket, not price clipped, protected by a transparent acid free (?) wrapper. Contemporary newspaper clipping loosely tipped in. Overall, a near fine copy. It was at Cottingley Beck, Yorkshire in 1917 that two girls alleged that they had seen the Fairies. In 1920 Sir Athrur Conan Doyie mistakenly gave credence to the hoax and the matter became world wide news, now 'Fake News.'
