Book Description

The image was taken by Edward Weston in 1929. At this time he was obsessed with the sensual form of natural objects; his images of nautilus shells and bell peppers also date from this period. His son Cole was also an accomplished photographer and he made this print. It is signed by him on the verso of the mount.
Dealer Notes
The image size is 237mm by 189mm. Mounted on board. Cole Weston has signed and titled the back of the board in pencil. The other details including the signature of Edward Weston are printed. The image is framed and a letter on the back provides excellent provenance: it was bought for $100 in 1974 from the Friends of Photography Gallery in Carmel, California.
