Black letter. A complete collection of acts over the year as follows: 1) To enable his Majesty to prohibit or restrain commerce with Sweden, 2) for Granting an Aid to his Majesty by a Land-Tax [for 1717], 3) for Continuing the duties of Malt, etc, 4) for continuing the duty on.Ale…within.Edinburgh, 5) ditto Dumfries, 6) For redeeming the Duties and Revenues…7) for redeeming…the National Debt, 8) for redeeming the yearly fund of the South Sea Company, 9) For Levying the Revenue of the Tenths of the Clergy, 10) for the better preservation of Game, 11) for to Impower Commissioners of Bankrupts, 12) for the regulating for ships in Dover, 13) for regulating Sheriffs, 14) enabling Sheriffs to sue, 15) To appoint Commissioners to examine debts due to the army, 16) Act Explaining Papists to register their names, and for securing purchases made by Protestants, 17) An act for the Kings Free Pardon, 18) for Forfeited Estates, 19) for Continuing the Liberty of Exporting Irish Linen Cloth to the British Plantations in America duty free. An interesting collection, showing well the concerns of the King and Parliament near the beginning of his reign. ESTC N52316 (Not in British Library), and ESTC T149268 (this rather rare, with only one copy in the US, at Huntingdon).
