Kalfatovic 0924. Attfield was Quarantine Medical Officer at Port Suez, where he boarded each vessel for inspection purposes. He eventually returned to England, where he became Medical Officer of Health for Watford. The present book reproduces the journal of his first year in Egypt, and describes his social life, visits to other parts of Egypt, the Suez Canal (including its history). A few copies were published by his parents for friends. It includes appendices on Wyoming in 1891 and Munich in 1892.
