                        Together 9 vols., 4to (255 x 155 mm), Birds second edition, Birds with 365 hand coloured plates, the Nests & Eggs with 232 hand coloured plates, besides the occasional spotting this is an extremely bright and clean set, marbled endpapers and edges, handsomely bound in contemporary full smooth calf by MacLehose of Glasgow, contrasting leather spine label lettered in gilt, spines gilt tooled with a bird tool to the centre of each compartment, some insect damage to base of spine to volume IV & V of Birds, a couple of repairs to splits in joints, wear to several head-caps (see images).
