Dealer Notes
An interesting label: J Andrews was a known early bookseller in London, and Arago s Freycinet appears in his 1828 catalogue as item number 149, priced at 3l, 13s and 6d. The work itself is an important one, because Arago is notably sympathetic in his description of his encounters with the natives. As well as their intrinsic importance, Freycinet s travels are known through their having on board Rose, his wife, in disguise. Amongst the different places Freycinet visited are Hawaiian Islands, Australia, other Pacific Islands, South America and the Falkland Islands.
