Ypres 1917, E. Norman Gladden, Willliam Kimber, 1967, Signed First Edition, First Impression Norman Gladden was a young Private in the Northumberland Fusiliers in Ypres and this book is his personal account of the campaign around Ypres in 1917 as he fought right through from the opening attacks in June until the Front was finally stabilised in November. The title page has been signed by the author with no personal dedication. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the bottom edge of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good+ condition with loss to all the corners, a crease mark to the top edge of the front cover, nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the spine and marks to the back cover. A rare find, we are aware of no other signed copies, making this an impressive addition to a library or a wonderful gift. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
