Book Description

FIRST UK EDITION. 8vo. Patterned paper boards, red lettering and device to spine. Top edge pink. Lightest pushing to spine ends, a little tobacco toned. Hairline crack to front hinge, but binding holding tight. In Tinsdall’s vibrant wraparound dust jacket: price-clipped, toned and a trifle rubbed, a touch of creasing to top edge. A nice bright copy.
Dealer Notes
A screen writer as well as a novelist, Irwin Shaw was placed on the Hollywood blacklist and left the US in 1951. 'Two Weeks in another Town' was written during his European exile, but still achieved best-seller status in the US. It was later adapted by Hollywood, a feature directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Kirk Douglas as the washed-up actor, Jack Andrus.
