Published by J. Salmon, Sevenoaks, 1909, 1st edition. Green cloth boards, gilt lettering to spine and front cover. Central inset illustration in gilt and white to front cover. Bevelled edges. Teg. 9.25ins x 6.75ins, [xvi], 296pp plus 63 tissue-guarded colour plates and 17pp b&w plates. The colour plates are by a number of artists including F.W. Burton, C. Essenhigh Corke, Sidney Baker, A. Harding Norwood, R.F. Robertson and Lady Hope herself. Geographically the book covers Lewes, Lamberhurst, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Rochester and Tonbridge as well as Tunbridge Wells. Previous owners name and address plus details of where he purchased the book (in 1931) to the front pastedown. Front free endpaper foxed. Edges of spine worn, but overall a VG copy of a scarce book.
