Yapped edges. 11.5ins x 8.75ins, [ii], 36pp, 1pp book adverts plus frontis and 12pp plates (7 folding and 2 coloured). Also an illustration within the text. Frontis by Joseph Pennell. Frontis loose. Bookplate of Gavin Stamp to front pastedown. A few tears to the yapped edges where they overreach the text block. Tiny loss to base of spine. Overall VG. Scarce. The very first publication in the Survey of London series which is still in production today - over 125 years later.
