Book Description

First edition, inscribed by Churchill on the front free end paper and dated Dec 1931. This is the British first edition, first printing, of the sixth and final volume of Winston Churchill's history of The First World War. The Eastern Front is comparatively scarce, owing to the fact that there were substantially fewer first printings of this sixth volume than of the preceding five. Previous owners bookplate to ffep. Light rubbing to corners of boards and head and tail of spine. There are minor marks to boards and spine with a small dent to rear board. Some spotting to page edges and margins with some mottling to end papers and title page. Darkening to pages 72-73 where advert slip for The World Crisis Omnibus edition is loosely inserted. Maps and illustrations complete.
