Hardback. xxiv. 455pp. Half bound contemporary calf with marbled sides. Leather to spine and corners with gilt decoration. Raised bands to spine with printed red label and gilt lettering. Decorative border to edge of leather including on the corners. Marbled end papers. Ex libris label. Illustrated title page. Text printed in columns. Three tickets to Shandy Hall and a illustrated small leaflet for shandy Hall laid in. Shandy Hall, Coxwold, Yorkshire was Stern’s home now run as a museum.
Leather is sound but worn to edges of spine and to spine ends and short split, approx 1cm, to head of spine. Rubbed to corners and edges. Marbled papers are some rubbed, scuffed and scratched. Pages are very tanned. Clean and sound.
