Book Description

Printed in the Year MDCCXXXVI; 12mo, 98 x 164mm; engraved emblematic frontispiece and a title printed red and black and with a woodcut decoration, pp [vi], 304; internally clean and in good condition throughout but very curiously bound in red cloth apparently heavily varnished and with the remains of an original spine to the work laid down, in addition a completely unconnected index sheet from another apparently 18th century work laid down on the front board.
Dealer Notes
See Teerink and Scouten 55. The book is presumed a forgery, printed in Edinburgh, although interesting in that it contains two additions to the poems of the referenced Dublin edition. The runing titles of pages 10, 70 and 118 carry the misprint Peoms as required. Scarce, there being copies in Boston University Libraries and through the Ehrenpreis Centre in Münster.
