Book Description

Shaped Nister book The Noahs Ark c1895 Large thin card wraps with 14 pages of colour illustrations by G H Thompson combined with the text in verse, the inner covers also have verses printed. The verses are little anecdotes and observations of the animals, often humorous. The central double spread shows some of the animals walking in single file rather than the normal “two by two”. The last two leaves have closed edge tears. 255 x 305 mm [approx. 10” x 12”] shaped thin card wraps; front cover loose, covers previously held together with tape, now tanned and partially lifted, small edge tear, some creasing and marking, still an appealing and scarce item. London. Ernest Nister 24 St Bride Street E. C. Printed by E Nister at Nuremberg. Rd No 1220
