Book Description

1st Edition, 1st Printing. Orange and yellow boards with gilt stamped titles and unicorn vignette to the spine. Blue map endpapers, 239(i)pp with black and white line drawn illustrations by the author throughout. In original unclipped jacket priced at 15s net. The boards are clean with bright titles and only a touch of pushing to the top corners. Internally, the book is very clean and without name, inscription or bookplate. The dust jacket is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) and has a touch of toning to the spine and a little more to the rear panel. However the front panel is clean and bright apart from one spot. There is a little rubbing to the top and bottom edges with minor loss to the corners and a few very small closed tears of of less than 0.5 cm along the bottom edge. There is also a touch of creasing to the front flap by the bottom corner. All in all a lovely looking first edition copy of this historical children’s story that is centred around the origins of printing in England.
