Lord Dunsany (Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany, 1878-1957), was a pioneer of fantasy literature. He was an Anglo-Irish writer and dramatist and was a prolific author, producing over 90 books and hundreds of short stories. He was producing work in the fantasy genre before it even had a name, and his writing inspired authors such as JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis. 2024 represented the centenary of his 1924 classic fantasy novel 'The King of Elfland's Daughter'. We hope the focus on that book will bring him to a wider modern audience.
