First illustrated edition bound with the supplement of 1740 although the pagination is continuous. Small folio, later morocco spine with five raised bands, gilt title and lines over marbled boards; pp. x, 274, [4]. 7 leaves of engraved plates illustrating various pieces of agricultural equipment. Pages 250 and 252 are misnumbered 650 and 652. Pages i-viii is the Preface, ix is the Contents list and x is an errata leaf. Index to plates to rear. The supplement has a separate title page. Previous owners bookplates to front pastedown - Nidd Hall and Ex Libris Mountgarret. Covers worn, edges and corners rubbed but pages clean and binding tight. A good sound copy of the influential text which helped to revolutionise agricultural methods in Britain in the eighteenth-century.
