SPEED, John. The Countie Of Nottingham described The Shire Towns Situation And The Earls Thereof observed. Performed by John Speede and are to be sold in Popes Head Alley by John Sudbury and Georg Humble 1610. Engraved by Jocodus Hondius 1610. Approx 510mm x 380 mm. This map is the less common Latin edition of 1616 with Latin text verso. Good colouring and a clean and tidy copy. There is one small hole which is not very noticeable, the margins are toned and with a few small chips, but otherwise a Very Good copy.
The map has an inset town plan of Nottingham, a large cartouche, compass rose and mileage scale, as well as the arms of the Earls of Nottingham.
