Dealer Notes
A fine, signed first edition of John Boyne’s bestseller, a somewhat controversial example of what is sometimes known as ‘Holocaust Fiction’, in this case utilising elements of fable to some degree at the expense of historical accuracy, but with the intention of conveying an impactive cautionary message. The story relates the horror of a Nazi extermination camp through the eyes of two 8-year-old boys; Bruno, the son of the camp's Nazi commandant, and Shmuel, a Jewish inmate. A film adaptation was released in 2008, starring Jack Scanlon and Asa Butterfield.
Author BOYNE, John.
