Book Description

The Book of Dust: The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman is the second volume in his companion trilogy to His Dark Materials, continuing the story of Lyra Belacqua as a young adult in a darker and more complex world. Published in 2019, the novel deepens Pullman's exploration of consciousness, belief and authority, combining philosophical themes with elements of espionage, adventure and psychological tension. Illustrated by Chris Wormell, this collector's edition presents the work in an especially attractive format, bringing together text and design in a finely produced limited issue.
