The owner / artist’s initials appear twice, once at the beginning, as initials, and then in full, with his address “32 The Cedars, Putney, S.W.” on the left side of one of the watercolours.
All 17 charming and well-executed watercolours herein are based around the shape of a pasted-in postage stamp, including a small series involving a clown. This artistic device enjoyed some popularity in mid-19th c. Britain. The rest of the album is either blank or contains pencil sketches, portraits, etc., including 2 after William Blake.
