Book Description

Much Hadham: Raymond Spencer Company, 1982. First limited edition of two hundred and fifty copies. This is a near fine copy. Housed in the original linen covered solander box, with Henry Moore s embossed facsimile to the front panel, and the title to the spine. There are some small spots to the linen. Comprises of a facsimile of Moore's Sketch Book for the Relief on the Underground Building, produced in 1928, with a catalogue of Moore s work by Alan G. Wilkinson. Both texts are without notable wear. The sketch book bears the original wear of Moore s original, the black covering toned and worn in places as when produced. The black staining has transferred very slightly to the inside of the solander box, as common with this title. Moore has flat signed his surname in black ink to a limitation label, which is numbered in pencil. This is no. 179 of 250. Overall, this is a near fine copy of a beautiful and scarce production. A fine thing.
