Hardback. Two volumes bound together, 288+270pp.+ the novella An Ingrate, 143pp. which is not, I think, by Broughton. An Ingrate is unattributed but the gathering notes in the footer margin are for Two Offenders, which is a work by the Anglo-French novelist Ouida (Maria Louise Ramé) comprising An Ingrate and An Assassin, this latter is not present. Quarter bound in olive cloth with marbled papers to boards both of which are clean but a little faded. Black printed label to spine with gilt lines edging and gilt titles. Rubbed to all edges leaving much exposed board, rubbed to the titles. Text is very clean and crisp and the binding is tight and square.
