2 volumes, Vol.1 is 2nd edition, vol.2 is 3rd edition, 8vo., top edges gilt, original blue cloth lightly rubbed, gilt titles, some pages uncut, with 2 frontispieces, 6 photogravures with captioned tissue-guards, 2 folding panoramas, 18 full-page coloured plates, 2 facsimile letters, 8 folding maps, 3 double-page plates, and numerous illustrations from photographs taken by Herbert G. Ponting and other members of the expedition. Title-pages printed in red/black. Repair to tear in folding map in vol.2, previous owner¿s signature on flyleaf of both vols, some slight browning but good clean copy. Vol.I: Being The Journals of Captain R.F. Scott, R.N., C.V.O.; Vol.II: Being The Reports of the Journeys & Scientific work undertaken by Dr. E.A. Wilson and the surviving members of the Expedition. In January 1912 Scott and his companions all perished after reaching the South Pole.
