Dealer Notes
Christopher Staveley. Jr. (1759-1827), civil engineer, working out of Melton Mowbray and from 1819 Leicester with one of his major projects was the Leicester Oakham navigation. Here Staveley lays out his objections to the intended Bill for a “navigation from Spalding to the Scalp south-east of Boston, and also the line of proposed New River or Cut from Hooton’s Gibbet to the Channel at Wyberton’s Roads.”
Not in Skempton; ESTC locates the BL copy only.
