Nineteen Eighty-Four, George Orwell, Secker & Warburg, 1949, First Edition, First Impression with original Dust Jacket. A dystopian classic and one of the most sought after novels of the twentieth century. First Edition, First Printing with the highly sought-after first Issue red dustjacket more desirable than the more commonly found green variant. Scarce in any condition and highly sought after. The book is in very good condition. The binding is tight with a slight lean, the green boards are clean with marks to the top of the front board but retain their colour and the red lettering on the spine is bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears, inscriptions and foxing. Red tint to top edge retained. The original unclipped jacket (showing "10s. net"), protected in a clear protective and removable cover is in fair condition with loss to the top and bottom of the spine and to the top and bottom of the crease on the front return together with other minor losses. Spine is sunned with a mark, decent colour to the front of the jacket and only slight darkening to the cream areas Will be professionally packaged and promptly despatched fully insured.
