Title page undated, presentation bookplate to front endpaper dated 1929 this is an attractive early British Sampson Low edition of this classic maritime Novel, featuring a decorative cover featuring one of the main characters of the Novel “Mesty” (Mephistopheles, Devil, Faust), dressed as Satan driving a carriage, also included with the book is the ORIGINAL BRASS PRINTERS PLATE USED FOR THE SPINE PANEL DECORATION internally illustrated with a small number of plates, 7.5 inches tall approx.
