Book Description

THE VOICE OF THE ORGAN by D. R. Young (1952) this is a very nice item, an original typescript manuscript with original drawings and photographs, being a sort of treatise on the Church Organ, the work runs to 88 numbered pages, and at the rear are a number of pamphlets and leaflets of various church organs round the country, these are dated from 1913, through the 1940s, that latest one being dated 1951 the typescript itself is not dated, but I would guess its probably not much later than the latest date on the enclosed leaflets, probably early 1950s packed with a wealth of information on Church Organs, the author mentions in the preface that he had great help from the staff of Mander Organs, whose factory he visited on a number of occasions the book is housed in card covers and held together by string ties through punch holes in the paper margins, a few of the earlier pages have pulled through the holes and are loose in the book, 11 inches tall approx.
