First edition. Undated in the book but this is the 1943 annual, published with soft covers and showing Rupert with a lantern pointing at a butterfly. . States 'war economy standards' book at front. Paperback :pictorial card wrappers by Alfred Bestall, and his colour illustrations throughout. 120pp.. Contains eleven stories, beginning with Rupert and the Circus Dog. Also has two pages for colouring, which have not been filled-in. The 'This book belongs to' panel has been filled in. Very Good copy. Wrappers and contents clean and bright, well-bound though slight stretch at front endpaper where glued part at gutter has slightly pulled away; rubbing to wrapper spine edges and small tear across near top spine but spine tightly held and all present. A Very Nice copy of this scarce annual
