Book Description

A scarce book privately printed in about 1995. Blue cloth gilt titles in a complete pictorial Dustwrapper. An area of level downland in the sleepy Hampshire village of Chilbolton was converted to an airfield during the early days of the Second World War as a satellite to R A F Middle Wallop. During the Battle of Britain many sorties were flown from Chilbolton covering Southampton and Bristol. Later in the War the airfield was allocated to the Americans, but his book covers its 'heyday' 1940 to 1941.
