A fine mathematical manuscript involving all areas of mathematics but most particularly the maths behind Sun Dials. 1803-1804. Folio 13x8 inches , recent half calf with marbled boards, new endpapers. Spine in six compartments with brown title piece, gilt. Pp 189 used. On the front endpaper is written "Begun this book 20th December 1803 - Finished 4th March 2nd.Being the second day of the week commonly called Monday". Handsomely arranged calligraphic manuscript in a tidy readable hand in ink, in sections thus: Problems of dialling 16 leaves with 13 fine ink drawings of Sun dials and of mathematical globes. Algebra 2 leaves, Subtraction and Multiplication 3 leaves, Division 6 leaves, Of Involution 4 leaves , Of Evolution 3 leaves, Reduction 4 leaves , (one spotted), Equations 4 leaves , On the extermination of Unknown Quantities 4 leaves , Of Proportion 5 leaves ,The Application of Algebra 24 leaves , Of the Resolution of Equations of Several Dimensions 19 leaves, Of Indeterminate or unlimited problems or unlimited Problems 6 leaves . Manuscript appears complete . Except for one spotted leaf and one leaf with small piece missing to top margin,in good condition. Now reduced in price from £1500 to £750
