Book Description
Some uncertainty about the date of publication as the book is undated. The British Library has it between 1874 and 1887. This Welsh edition probably published somewhere in the middle of these 2 dates. The plates are not listed although 13 plates appear in the text plus the frontis. and half-title pages, making 15 in all (these all have tissue guards) Some copies seem have a map, this does not appear to have one and the plates positions and quantity does appear to vary. The last page of text appears to have been re-inserted neatly at some point with a neat taped repair to the lower edge with a handwritten name and small inscription in Welsh. Numerous inscriptions and names appear on the front endpapers and first preliminary page. Minimal wear to outer hinges , all still holding firm however. Light marks to Minor water adhesion damage to front endpaper (See illustations).
Dealer Notes
An elaborate and attractive full leather binding with gilt decorations and titles on the front & rear boards and spine. All edges gilt. Seems to be very scarce in WELSH...no other copies found...
