A unique Presentation Copy of the First Edition in pristine conditon, inscribed to the title page " To Rosemary Hawley Jarman - Stella Plumb - with all love always x T " and lower 2009 (St Leonards) ( Page 174- missing ! - is replaced by a copy of said page in proof TL) As is the case - see image. This is itself a rare authorial hand-corrected proof sheet provided by the publisher to rectify their mistake and indicating First state status . "Stella Plumb" was the maiden name of Stella Jarman and Rosemary's mother who were all lifelong friends frequently living close to one another in the St Leonards area. Rosemary, herself a celebrated historical novelist wrote the introduction to Lee's 1986 Arkham House collection "Dreams of Dark & Light." Together with. an undated original corrected typescript headed "First North American Serial Rights Only" for Tanith Lee's short story "Queens in Crimson" first published here and the only story to have been written specifically for the collection.
