The book is an attempt by the author to make up for the omission of any discussion of the Irish branch of the Monroe family in Alexander Mackenzie's 'History of the Munros of Fowlis' (1898). Bookplate to the pastedown of Kinn Hamilton McIntosh, who wrote crime novels under the name 'Catherine Aird'.
