In the original dust jacket: price-clipped with red rubberstamp price cancel ($1.35) at bottom edge of front flap, sunned and lightly soiled, closed tear to bottom of front flap edge, spine ends and corners nicked, with tape reinforcements to reverse. Still, a handsome, square copy.

Rachel Field (1894-1942) was a successful novelist and poet, recipient of the Newbery Medal for her 1929 'Hitty, Her First Hundred Years,' as well as one of the inaugural National Book Awards for her novel, 'Time Out of Mind' (1935).
