Dealer Notes
= Massive and rare English family Bible with no other copies traced on the market at the time of cataloguing. Only one listing of this specific edition in WorldCat (British Library, OCLC 1356962334), mentioning that according to Darlow/ Moule at least 3 variants of this edition exist. Issued in 78 weekly parts, starting on May 27, 1786. With plates "Engraved for the Revd. T. Bankes's Christians family Bible"; engraved by various engravers.

Upper pastedown with mounted map of wider Hull area; lower pastedown with mounted map of England and Wales railways; first plate large tear (repaired on verso - same verso also w. family gift inscription in ink); last leaves lower margin faintly waterstained. First two blank versos of the NT with manuscript family losses of the Millner family (1806-1887) and marriages and births (1843-1887). Binding worn; upper joint very weak; spine pasted over with cloth in matching colour.
