Book Description

A first edition, first impression of Orwell's twentieth century masterpiece in the scarce jacket. Bound in publisher's green cloth with titles in white to the spine. Some rubbing to spine ends, corners and edges of boards. Edges of text block toned. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper has been neatly tip-exed out. Minor splits to hinges, which both remain strong. The unclipped dustwrapper has an affixed acetate cover but is toned and chipped with several small closed tears. There is a note in pen to the front flap which reads, "Bought 21st Jan, 1950. Announced on Radio G. Orwell died today 21st Jan 1950."
