Book Description

FIRST EDITION. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. 8vo. (8.8 x 5.8 inches). Signed by the author on a blank front free endpaper. A fine copy in a fine leather binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe of London. Full dark blue morocco with four interlinking inlaid colour morocco circles, bordered in gilt, and gilt lettering to the spine. Both boards with nine inlaid morocco circles in green, tan and burgundy morocco, all circled in gilt. Gilt ruled line with curved corners to the inside boards, surrounding marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Front panel of the original dustwrapper bound in at the rear. Housed in a marbled paper covered slip case which is toned to the edges but still very good. A previous owner bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper has been partially removed. Light offsetting to the edges of the endpapers from the leather turn-ins and a hint of rubbing to the very top edge of the spine but otherwise a fine copy of the book.
