Spine is a later replacement and has 5 raised binds, gilt lettering on a red leather patch to compartment two and gilt decoration to other compartments. 10.75ins x 8.75ins, xv, (i), 485pp, 1pp errata, 4pp index. Contents are divided into 10 sections. Sect 1 "Of the Island of Lothingland", sect 2 "Of the origin of Lowestoft", sect 3 "Of the Fisheries of Lowestoft", sect 4 "Of the Contest with Yarmouth", sect 5 "Of the Church", sect 6 "Of the Chapels", sect 7 "of the Vicars", sect 8 "Of the Religious sects", sect 9 "Of Naval and Military affairs" conclusion "Of the present state of the Herring - Fishery". Bookplate to front pastedown. Index pages foxed. Appears to lack a half-title else a VG well preserved copy.
