1975 First Edition 8vo. Hardback pp 6, 198 [ 8p. of plates & 2 maps,] Green paper boards with gilt lettering to spine. Small owners label on front endpaper. Very good dustwrapper with some shelf ware to edges. Michael Montgomery records the pains and pleasures of his six thousand mile journey through eleven countries with the help of verses by John Aske the expedition’s poet. On arrival in Kathmandu, the party set out to walk the last lap, a gruelling march over a two hundred mile switchbacks of ridges and valleys.
