First Edition 1900. 8vo pp iv, 112, 3 folding plates, 7 pp illustrations of fingerprints. B&W diagrams throughout text. Grey cloth with black lettering to spine and front cover which has a few grubby marks, slight wear to top and bottom of spine. Small 2cm tear to bottom of 4 pages. Title page browned some foxing. Developed by Edward Henry in the late 19th century for criminal investigations in British India. The Henry Classification System was to find worldwide acceptance in 1899.
