Album of Photographs relating to Merryweather & Sons
Book Description
Landscape quarto cloth album with photographs pasted in. Contains 42 photographs relating to the History of Merryweather & Sons, most dated around 1902 but a few later according to hand written dates in the album. One of the photographs is on very thin paper and probably not an original, another a photograph of Mr J. C. Merryweather in his office looks as if it is a copy from a magazine or newspaper article. The photographs dated 1902 are pictures of the works such as the turnery, the hose shop, the pattern shop, the paint shop, the foundry, the fitting shop etc. There are also external photographs of the Longacre premises, the Greenwich premises, along with a picture of the bombed (hit my enemy fire 25/6/44) Greenwich premises and the company's temporary offices while they were bombed out of Greenwich. Also included is a folding blueprint copy of of the ground occupied by the Greenwich works.
