Book Description

This popular edition is abridged from the original and is smaller in size. It has a folding frontispiece and folding map along with many full-page plates. It is bound in a full leather prize binding with matching marbled end papers and gilt lettering. There is a gilt crest to the front board "Go And Do Thou Likewise". The binding is tight with a barely visible stain to the lower left corner and a small mark to the rear board. There is a little foxing foxing to the prelims but overall this is an almost very good copy. Its UNIQUE point is its provenance. See below.
Dealer Notes
This book comes from the library of SIR ALBERT R COOK of Makidye, Kampala and bears his distinctive bookplate to the front end paper (see photograph). Albert Cook was a famous East African missionary and medic.
