Book Description

Uncorrected proof copy: label pasted on front cover indicating change of title to "Innocent Blood" from "The Blood Tie" (still showing as such on spine, half title and title page). Additional label of Elaine Greene Ltd. the author's literary agent. Inscribed on the half-title "To ... with every good wish P.D. James". Wrappers sunned at margins and spine and a bit soiled; upper corner bumped. The first edition: fine in price clipped dust jacket; neat ink name on ffep; pages browned at margins owing to poor quality paper.
Dealer Notes
The proof copy was signed for the present owner at a private function in 1984 where the author was the guest speaker.
As indicated by the label, the original title was changed somewhere along the line. The literary agent Elaine Greene was a sister-in-law of Graham Greene, having been married to his brother Hugh Greene.
