Book Description

A photochrom print with the caption 'Yarmouth The Gardens and Britannia Pier' and the reference number 10.244. The print measures 9" x 6.5" and is mounted on glass with a black border and presented in a contemporary frame. In generally good condition, the frame with some minor faults and the back somewat stained.

Dealer Notes

The pier opened in 1858 and in order to allow all weather use an enclosed area was built in 1880. As this structure is not evident, the original photograph would have predated 1880, although the image would have been printed in colour as a photochrom in the 1890s or early 1900s.
