This volume devotes a section of two pages of text with two full-page illustrations to ‘The End of a Great Quest’ - Amundsen’s attainment of the South Pole. A larger section is also given over to ‘The Loss of the “Titanic”’ (pp, 75-93). Among other content are the centenaries of Charles Dickens and Robert Browning; ‘China as a Republic’ with a portrait of Sun Yat-sen; and ‘Signor Marconi and wireless’.
