Book Description

Signed, limited first edition, 103 of 200 copies signed by the author. This is one of Roosevelt’s most important early works on North American big game hunting. It blends vivid first-hand accounts of hunting expeditions in the American West with naturalist observations and reflections on wilderness conservation. Roosevelt, already a seasoned outdoorsman and naturalist by his mid-30s, would go on to become the 26th President of the United States and a pioneer of the American conservation movement. This volume predates his presidency and captures his frontier persona at its peak.
