8vo, [xv] 528 [8]pp. frontispiece and numerous black and white illustrations within the text and a folding map of Sinai at end of volume; original brown cloth boards, spine repaired with original spine relaid, endpapers replaced and small library stamps on prelims and final page, corners bumped, slight offsetting from frontispiece, but a clean, bright copy of this very readable work. An interesting journey from Cairo to Damascus with chapters on Suez, Feiran, Ghebel Mousa, Nukhi, Beersheba, Jerusalem, Jordan and the Dead Sea, Tiberias, Beyrout and Lebanon by a Victorian cleric.
